Ultra Drain Installation Guide
Ultra Drain 60 can be installed in two(2) simple methods:
Ensure that Poly Former is fitted until all concrete work is completed and the Ultra Drain top is ready to be fitted.
Method 1:
Place wooden pegs at 600mm intervals set to correct level. Nail through the Ultra Drain base to secure in place. Concrete to the desired level, ensuring poly former insert is in place.
Method 2:
Use a concrete or plaster mix to haunch the Ultra Drain in place to the correct level. Concrete to the desired level.
Additional Recommendations:
To further secure the Ultra Drain we recommend drilling and putting a 300mm piece of reinforcing bar (10mm or 12mm) through the upper part of the drain at 1m intervals. This will prevent the drain from ‘floating’ when concrete is poured.
Aberflex or a similar product should be used on both sides of the drain when the Ultra Drain is placed between two concrete slabs. Ultra Drain cannot be used as the expansion joint as the drain will be damaged if expansion or excessive movement occurs.
The cleaning section (300mm long) should be put in a central position for convenient drain cleaning. It is easier to remove a 300mm section than a 2.8m piece of drain top.
For optimum cleaning place cleaning sections at 3.0m intervals.
WARNING:
